You know the story of the Tortoise and the hare? Heres a summary:
“The Tortoise and the Hare” is a famous fable by Aesop about a speedy but arrogant hare and a slow, determined tortoise.
The hare constantly boasts about how fast he is and makes fun of the tortoise for moving slowly. Tired of being mocked, the tortoise challenges the hare to a race. Confident that he cannot lose, the hare quickly runs far ahead of the tortoise. Believing he has plenty of time, he decides to stop and take a nap during the race.
Meanwhile, the tortoise continues moving at a slow but steady pace without stopping. While the hare sleeps, the tortoise gradually passes him. When the hare finally wakes up, he rushes toward the finish line, but the tortoise reaches it first and wins the race.
Moral of the Story
“Slow and steady wins the race.”
Consistent effort and perseverance are often more important than natural talent.
Overconfidence and laziness can lead to failure.
The fable teaches that determination, discipline, and persistence can overcome arrogance and carelessness.
Back in St. Mary’s (kindergarten-5th grade), we used to have those Field Days where we would compete with the other Catholic schools in things like the mile, 50-yard dash, tug-of-war, etc. I would always get selected to run the mile, and every time I would sprint around the field so fast for the first two laps, thinking everyone was slow, and I would be so far ahead of everyone. I would start slowing down because I was so gassed from sprinting, and then people would pass me. LMAO, I was so clinically retarded back then. I’m pretty sure this happened at least two to three times before I had the lightbulb moment. The reason I am writing this is simply to say that this story is part of how the Slow Cook originated. “Slow and steady wins the race” is part of the structure of slow cooking, about 33% to be exact. Consistent effort and perseverance are undoubtedly needed for success in life in general, but with the Slow Cook, there are a number of additional components that I look forward to sharing more about later. It’s funny because the Gangstr Way with Jesus Dude was also a Slow Cook, as well as many other things in my life that I will share in due time. When I incarnated into this life, I had a number of missions I needed to embark on, and one of them was to master the Slow Cook. It’s part of my life’s work.
